I lost my best friend tonight

I just put my best friend to sleep at 7:15 this evening.
She was a 10 year old pomeranian who was the most wonderful dog in the world.
We traveled all over the country together, flew on airplanes, vacationed and did everything together.
Even my husband who was a cat person, loved Who to dearly.
It was so sad everyone was crying. My husband couldn't even bear to be in the room.
She had horrible ear infections that we couldn't cure and they moved into her inner ear. Prior to that she had lost an eye, and started to loose her balance and could barely walk in a straight line. Through it all she just smiled and looked happy. We did everything we could to keep her alive, and in the end it wasn't enough.
I have never felt so sad in my entire life.

To anyone who has ever lost a family member, my heart breaks for you.
