Izzie is our 2 year old beautiful, loving Greyhound.  We took her to her pet motel while we went on vacation and she died while we were gone.  Her death was caused by pancreatitis and it was my fault.  I gave her greasy, fat oozing skin off fired chicken.  Please, do not give your pets human food.  Pet #1 may be ok, pet #2 may be ok, but Pet #3 may be predisposed to pancreas infection so do not feed them fatty foods.  You hear Vets say don't feed them human food but they don't tell you it can be life threatening.
We needed Izzie and the love she gave us.  From morning thru the night, 24 and 7, she wanted to be touched, hugged and to play ball.  She went between our legs whenever she could, played tag with her sister, Grace, came for hugs and kisses, and moved from room to room if we moved.  She talked every morning to her sister to wake her up and came for hugs the minute she was out of bed.  She gave so much to us for too short a time.  We needed her loving touch and we let her down.  Please, take care of your loving pets by not giving them human treats.

Jackie,  I'm very sorry to hear about your loss.

For those who still think that is it ok to feed your pet human food even after Jackie's message I just found this article on http://www.petalia.com.au :

"Feeding pets food that we enjoy is not only wrong, it can also be fatal. There are some foodstuffs that humans relish which cause illness and death if eaten by pets.

Chocolate, macadamia nuts and onions are good examples. Each of these foods contains chemicals which rarely cause problems for humans, but for dogs, these same chemicals can be deadly."
