   Thank you Lord for leading me to this web site!!!  It is such a blessing to know that there are other pet owners out there who don't think it is a crime to LOVE their pet......   I am so tired of hearing all of the stories of pets who were either burned, starved, left alone, or unloved.  I lost my Yanni two weeks ago, and I am still grieving!!!!  I had his love and company for 14 years and when I had to put him to "sleep,"  because of his health it was a real blow to my spirit.  I go home now and the house seems so empty.......  Everyone wants me to get another pet right away, but I just can't.  First, it would not be the same.  Second, I would feel rotten if I could not give the new pet the same kind of love and attention that I gave Yanni. 
   I am going to pick up his ashes today!!!!  If there are any out there who would pray for my strength.  I know that he is running on fields of green grass, barking at birds, and frolicking with other pets who have gone to heaven, but I do miss him......................

Your pain is shared by each and every one of us who has had to say Farewell to our loving, loyal canine friends.  They etch their own special place in our hearts, never to be forgotten.  God cares for them as He cares for all of His creation.  I am sorry for you loss.

I understand completey! Please read my blog Heartbroken, my angels.  I thought I could never love another again too and was real skiddish when I got my cat.  I felt like I was trying to block myself from loving him out of guilt for my past "angels".  But you do love again and it may even be stonger and you will cherish every moment with them.  They don't live to be 70 or 80 like us. We have to prepair somehow. It doesn't make it earsier, but take your time and greive .  You'll know when your ready.
